Acupuncture Clinic in Bass Coast, VIC
Ancient Chinese Medicine For Modern Stress & Anxiety
Acupuncture for stress and anxiety, recurring headaches and migraines, and broken sleep, at Tenby Point near Phillip Island, drawing on 25+ years of Chinese Medicine.
Some weeks your head just won’t switch off. You lie awake running through tomorrow, the headaches keep coming, and the tiredness makes everything harder to cope with. If sleeping tablets and “just relax” advice haven’t helped, an acupuncture clinic may be worth trying. Brigitte’s Bass Coast practice sees this often.
Brigitte Linder has spent 25+ years helping people wind down when their body has forgotten how. She won’t hand you a script or a one-size plan. She looks at what’s driving the stress, your sleep, your digestion, the load you’re carrying, and treats the pattern underneath, not just the symptom on top.
She’ll be honest: a single session often leaves you deeply calm on the table, but to hold that calm between visits, it helps to pair the acupuncture with a few simple habits, which is why she also teaches meditation.
What's Keeping You Up At Night?
Stress and sleep problems rarely travel alone. Acupuncture is often used for:
Anxiety and constant tension that won't ease off, even at home.
Headaches and migraines that keep coming back.
Trouble falling asleep, or waking between 1 and 3 am and not getting back off.
A short fuse, brain fog, and feeling wired but exhausted.
Excessive tension in your gut or your jaw.
A lot of people around here are managing this on top of a commute to Melbourne, a seasonal business that floods every summer, or a tree-change that turned out busier than planned. Rest doesn’t fix a nervous system stuck in overdrive. This is about helping it downshift.
Our Headaches, Stress and Insomnia Services
Acupuncture for Anxiety and Stress
Stress that won’t switch off keeps your body on alert long after the trigger’s gone. These sessions are gentle and unhurried, using calming points, often on the hands, forearms and lower legs, to help settle that fight-or-flight response so you can feel steadier day to day.
Acupuncture for Headaches and Migraines
Tension headaches and migraines can wipe out a day, and a lot of people just push through with tablets. Acupuncture is one of the better-researched uses for recurring headaches, aimed at easing how often they hit and how hard, by settling the muscle tension and nervous-system triggers behind them.
Acupuncture for Insomnia
When you can’t sleep, everything else frays. From trouble falling asleep to waking in the small hours, acupuncture can calm an overactive mind and settle the patterns that keep you up. Brigitte will also talk through the simple evening habits that help the treatment hold.
The Bass Coast has grown fast, up almost a quarter in five years, as people swap Melbourne for the coast. Plenty bring the city pace and the commute with them. The towns that empty out in winter fill to bursting every summer, which is hard on anyone running a local business or working in hospitality. Cowes even reports higher-than-average rates of mental-health conditions. A quiet clinic at Tenby Point, well away from the rush, is a good place to help a stretched nervous system come back down.

The things people usually ask
Can acupuncture really help with anxiety and stress?
It's one of the things Brigitte treats most. Acupuncture helps calm the body's stress response, and many people feel noticeably more settled during and after a session. It isn't a replacement for your GP or psychologist if you're getting that support, and Brigitte is glad to work alongside them. For lasting change, she'll usually suggest pairing sessions with simple daily habits.
Does it hurt, and could it make me more anxious?
For most people, it's gentle. If you're nervous, tell her, and she'll do less and keep you covered and comfortable. Most people find the session itself deeply relaxing, which is part of the point.
How many sessions before I notice a difference with sleep?
It varies. Some people sleep better within the first week; others need a handful of sessions to shift a long-standing pattern. Brigitte tends to start closer together, then space visits out as things settle. She'll be honest early on about what she expects for your situation.
Can I keep taking my medication?
Yes. Brigitte won't ask you to stop anything your GP has prescribed, be it for sleep, anxiety or migraines. Acupuncture is used alongside your medical care, not instead of it. If down the track you want to talk to your doctor about your options, she's glad to support that conversation, but any change is between you and your GP.
Do you treat migraines differently from ordinary headaches?
To a point. Brigitte looks at what sets yours off - hormones, tension, screens, poor sleep - and treats that pattern rather than just the pain. Headaches and migraine are among the better-researched uses of acupuncture, and the aim is fewer, less severe episodes over time. She'll also flag anything that sounds like it needs your GP's eyes rather than hers.
